Progress?

For some reason, I’m still feeling like I need to spend more time pondering the message of The Fool and seeing how that card resonates with me. I wrote a lot about it the other day, but I still feel like there’s more to explore, so I’m sticking with it for now and will move on to the next card when I feel that I’ve exhausting my ideas.

It’s strange because I have tried to do a study on The Magician, but I stared at that card for over an hour and nothing was coming to me. I was drawing a complete blank on that card and still focused on my study of The Fool. I checked a few other cards and got the same thing – even cards that I am already comfortable with. I think that means that I still have more to learn about The Fool, so I should probably stick with it.

In other news, I tried Josephine Ellershaw’s “Life Spread With Anchor” the other day. I don’t know if it’s because I wasn’t focusing enough or what, but I couldn’t get a feel for it at all. There were 27 cards staring up at me and I was just lost. I’ll give it another chance once I am more comfortable with the cards – probably after I complete my study. For the time being, though, I’m probably going to stick with my two main spreads – a 5 card short spread for a daily reading and the old standard, the Celtic Cross, for a more in-depth reading.

Since I had homework to do, I wasn’t able to study the cards as much as I would have liked. I don’t know how this week will fare either, since I have work. Hopefully I can get a few more cards studied throughout the week… assuming, of course, I can get past the Fool.
